The Wedding of Fiammetta Romano and Hernan LaCouture – A Modern Fairy Tale
What happens when two very distinctive styles come head-to-head in the design process—when the bride and groom envision a modern wedding but the mother of the bride is looking for a more traditional feel? For the wedding of Fiammetta and Hernan LaCouture, we blended the best elements of both worlds to create a real-life fairy tale.
Set at the breathtaking Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, we met both sides in the middle. We combined modern acrylic chairs with traditional floor-length linens and lace cloths to create a truly unique tablescape. The result was an atmosphere both timeless and cutting-edge and one that perfectly captured the tastes of everyone involved in the planning.
The menu held nothing back, fusing four different stations—Catalan, carving, pasta and dessert–that each opened simultaneously. The desserts—delicious confections imported from Lebanon and New York City—were only outdone by their display.
But the real highlight of the night came when the eighteen-piece band fired up. Staged against the beautifully lit Vizcaya Museum—all purples, oranges and golds–once the music got going, everyone in attendance had no choice but to abandon their seats and dance the night away, placing the perfect cap on an enchanting evening.
Not even Mother Nature with her inconsiderate precipitation could rain on this party. Despite having less than ideal weather conditions, Fiammetta and Hernan’s wedding could not be described as anything less than a beautiful celebration of two people’s love for each other.
